Over less than 24 hours, Catherine climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales while travelling hundreds of miles between each location.

The demanding challenge involved more than 23 miles of hiking and over 3,000 metres of climbing, making it one of the most physically difficult accomplishments she has undertaken since returning to public duties.

In a deeply personal statement, Catherine said cancer affects far more than a person’s physical health.

She explained that the disease changes the way people think, feel and experience everyday life while also impacting families, friendships and the quiet moments spent alone.

Drawing on her own experience, the Princess said recovery requires much more than medical treatment alone, highlighting the importance of emotional support, mental wellbeing and compassionate care throughout the journey.

Catherine revealed she undertook the National Three Peaks Challenge not simply as a personal test of endurance but to help others facing similar experiences.

The fundraiser supports The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, where she previously received treatment following her cancer diagnosis.

She also hopes to increase awareness of holistic care, including psychological support, physical activity, nutrition and therapies that help patients recover during and after treatment.

The Princess said she wants every person living with cancer to know they are not facing the journey alone.
